Youth Employment and Training Program Success......

At 28 years old, Ken began his journey into the world of Trades through the local Youth Employment Program Initiative at the Paul First Nation.

In April of 2006, Ken started the work program and undertaken by
While working for EVEREADY, Ken accumulated a number of safety tickets including: H2S, Compliant Space, Fall Protection, CSTS, Vacuum Hazard Awarenes, PPE Requirements, Emergency Procedures, to name a few.

After working for EVEREADY and attaining a number of safety and work oriented training, Ken moved on to work with other reputable companies through the staffing company MANPOWER:

Ken mentioned that he is entirely greatful and thanks the
Paul First Nation for all of the overwhelming support of the Youth Employment and Training Program. Thoughout the course of his
on-the-job training, the Nation was a huge support and helped him to see his successes through.

Ken is currently working in Fort MacMurray. He encourages all of the Paul First Nation members to work, and utilize the Initiative.

He attests that this has been a great experience and has given him the boost to get off of the Reserve and make something for himself and his family, it's great experience, as it gives a sense of pride, achievement and raises self-worth and self-esteem.
